By the time the 2022 season kicked off, something was different — not just with the team on the field, but with the team off it too. What began as a small pocket of the First Coast Black and Gold had grown into a strong, distinct community right here at Jacksonville Beach. Week after week, more Steelers fans gathered at Sneaker’s Sports Grille, not just to watch the games, but to feel the belonging, energy, and camaraderie that made Sundays special.
As the crowds grew and our traditions took deeper root — the chants, the birthday shoutouts, the towel waves that echoed like Heinz Field — it became clear: we weren’t just a satellite group anymore. We had become something more.
And so, in the spirit of unity and pride, our group embraced a new name that reflected who we truly were: Black and Gold of Jax Beaches. It wasn’t just a title — it was a declaration. A name that represents our community, our location, and our shared identity as proud members of Steeler Nation living life at the beach.
From 2022 and 2023, we didn’t just cheer — we hosted. We welcomed newcomers, reunited old friends, celebrated every touchdown like it was the playoffs, and built a reputation as one of the most passionate Steelers fan clubs in Florida. What started in 2019 as a few strangers had now become a tradition — one rooted in loyalty, laughter, and a love for the black and gold that runs deep, no matter how far from Pittsburgh we are.
